“Call for action! Technology and policies for a Healthier Climate”

Welcome to Studentersamfundet in Trondheim on 18 October from 11:45 am to 5 pm.

Our world is currently experiencing climate change. An increasing number of sources, surveys and indicators are telling us that man-made CO2 emissions are a major cause of climate change. How do we respond to these challenges?

On 18 October 2007 a climate conference will be held in Trondheim, as part of the Technoport Festival. The conference will focus on environmental technology and policies with emphasis on climate change.
We will investigate the common ground for technology and policies to find the “largest common denominator” between the two, and examine how this can be translated into practical policies. In other words, this will be a solution-oriented climate conference.

Guest speakers include:
Norwegian Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg, former Prime Minister of Sweden Gøran Persson, Chairman of the Norwegian Commission on Low Emissions, Professor Jørgen Randers, former Minister of Environment Børge Brende (H), and Nils Røkke, the R&D Director at SINTEF and for EU framework programmes.

Participants:
Nordic parliamentarians, private and public decision-makers, researchers, students and other individuals who have a genuine interest in finding good solutions to the climate challenge.

The climate conference is organised jointly by UKA 07 Student Festival, The Municipality of Trondheim, The County of Sør-Trøndelag and the Confederation of Norwegian Enterprises.
